The FIA Girls on Track – Empower program made history at the 2025 Race Of Champions in Sydney, marking the first time the initiative has partnered with the global motorsport event.

Bringing together top drivers and industry professionals, the initiative immersed 12 participants in key operational roles such as media relations, social media, hospitality, passenger coordination, and show production.

Designed to provide young women with hands-on experience in major motorsport operations, the FIA Girls on Track – Empower Program offered participants unparalleled access to gain real-world motorsport experience.

Held at Accor Stadium from 6-8 March, the Race Of Champions provided the backdrop for the groundbreaking initiative, which saw selected participants work across key event areas. The program was designed to inspire and equip the next generation of women in motorsport with practical skills and industry exposure.

“Creating meaningful opportunities for young women to gain hands-on experience is crucial in driving diversity within motorsport. The partnership between FIA Girls on Track and the Race Of Champions is an exciting step forward, and it’s fantastic to see these talented young women take their first steps in the industry,” said Charlie Barlow, Development Manager, Motorsport Australia.

“This was a world-first for FIA Girls on Track, and to see our participants working behind the scenes at an event of this calibre is incredibly rewarding.

“Giving young women access to these environments builds confidence, fosters skill development, and opens doors to future careers in motorsport.”

Participants in the program engaged in various event operations, from assisting with show production and media coordination to managing social media content and passenger logistics. Their contributions played a key role in the smooth execution of the Race Of Champions, demonstrating the effectiveness of the initiative.

With the success of the inaugural FIA Girls on Track – Empower program, Motorsport Australia are looking ahead to introducing more opportunities for aspiring young women in motorsport, ensuring greater representation and inclusion in the industry.
