Oscar Piastri claims his fourth 2025 victory at the Miami Grand Prix

Formula 1 – Miami

Oscar Piastri has won the Miami Grand Prix, claiming his sixth career victory and becoming the first McLaren driver to win three consecutive Grands Prix since Mika Hakkinen in the late 1990s.

The Miami Grand Prix weekend included both the Sprint Race and Grand Prix, both of which Piastri bagged a large amount of points – 32 for the whole weekend.

During an eventful and wet Sprint Race on Saturday, Piastri snatched the lead from Mercedes’ Kimi Antonelli at Turn one of the opening lap, with Piastri maintaining a steady gap back to Lando Norris.

The McLaren pair battled it out, resulting in Norris taking the win in the sprint and Oscar finishing a little more than six tenths behind his teammate.

Sunday proved to be the Australian’s lucky day, starting the race in fourth and quickly making his way behind race leader Max Verstappen.

Piastri eventually charged in front of Verstappen with Norris following behind him, resulting in the McLaren duo leading the race with a large gap from the rest of the drivers.

The Aussie finished the race with an impressive pace, crossing the line four seconds from Norris, continuing his quest atop of the drivers’ points standings.

McLaren took home another 1-2 finish for 2025, with Piastri’s win meaning McLaren has claimed back-to back Miami Grand Prix victories.

Miami was not so lucky for Queenslander Jack Doohan, with his race ending on Lap 1 following contact with Liam Lawson and picking up too much damage to continue the race aboard his Alpine.

Round five of the 2025 Formula 1 World Championship heads to its first European round of the year with the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix on 16–19 May.

British F4 – Silverstone

Australian driver Jimmy Piszcyk continued his superb start to the 2025 British F4 Championship, securing two victories from pole position at Silverstone and moving to the top of the championship standings.

The 18-year old’s pace was clear in Qualifying, with a time of 2:01.034 securing him pole position.

Piszcyk made a great getaway from pole in the first race to lead the field around lap one. Despite two safety cars closing the field, the Aussie stayed focused and claimed a flawless victory with the fastest lap of the race.

Starting Race Two from 12th, as the top 12 qualifiers were reversed, Piszcyk climbed four spots in just two laps, pulling off a sensational double pass around the outside of two rivals at Brooklands corner.

As he closed on the pack ahead, he was punted wide by Chase Fernandez in the Village Loop, recovering from 15th on a late restart to bring his car home in 12th.

Piszyck was back on pole position for the final race, building a solid lead that allowed him to gain early control of the incident 25 minutes into the race. After a race restart, the Aussie’s pace continued, resulting in him taking home is second win of the weekend.

Young Australian, Xavier Avramides, also had a successful weekend at Silverstone.

The 16-year-old finished Race Oe in 12th, but managed to reach the points with 8th for Races Two and Three.

Avramides’ impressive performance over the weekend placed him third in the Rookie Cup.

The next round of the 2025 British F4 Championship takes place at Snetterton on 24–25 May.

McLaren Trophy – Brands Hatch

Jayden Kelly made a strong start to the 2025 McLaren Trophy Europe season at Brands Hatch, converting two pole positions into wins in both races.

Kelly and his teammate Michael O’Brien started strong on Saturday with Kelly putting the car in pole position before himself and O’Brien brought home the win in the first race.

Beginning Race Two upfront after another pole position in qualifying, Kelly and his teammate Michael O’Brien overcame a challenging battle for the win, receiving a 20 second penalty due to a pit entry/exit fault.

Kelly and O’Brien gave it their all to rebuild their pace and climb through the field, resulting in the team claiming victory.

The 2025 McLaren Trophy Europe heads to Monza on 30 May–1 June.


European Le Mans Series – Le Castellet

Australian driver James Allen, alongside Sergio Sette Camara and Anthony Wells, took the LMP2 Pro-Am victory at Le Castellet, and finished second outright.

Fellow Aussie Garnet Patterson, driving for United Autosports alongside Michael Birch and Wayne Boyd, finished 11th in the race for the LMGT3 and P36 outright.

Unfortunately Australian LMP3 driver Griffin Peebles, and his WTM by Rindaldi Racing teammates, had to retire the car due to a gearbox problem resulting in a DNF.

Round Three of the 2025 European Le Mans Series takes place on 4 May for the 4 Hours of Imola.


Le Mans Cup – Le Castellet

Griffen Peebles and his teammate Steve Parrow made an amazing improvement at Le Castellet.

Qualifying in 12th, Peebles finishing the race in 9th for the LMP3 Pro-Am and 20th outright.

Also in the LMP3 Pro-Am, Aussie duo Fraser Ross and George Nakas qualified P14 and maintained their position in the race, while finishing 34th outright.

The next round of the 2025 Le Mans Cup will remain in France on 12 June for the Road to Le Mans.


Portuguese Rally Championship

Australian rally duo Taylor Gill and Daniel Brkic unfortunately suffered a retirement in Portuguese Rally Championship after a roll over early on in the weekend.

The pair were able to secure funding for this extra event in their FIA Rally Star program, preparing for the next round of the FIA Junior World Rally Championship later this month in Portugal.

Gill and Brkic will head back to Portugal on 15-18 May for the WRC Vodafone Rally de Portugal.


Italian F4 – Misano

Dante Vinci took home a Rookie Class podium at Misano for the opening round of the 2025 Italian F4 Championship season, finishing third.

In Race One, Vinci had an unfortunate jump start at the beginning, making it a challenging recovery.

The Australian was able to climb from 14th to 8th, but was given a penalty after the race, leaving him 12th overall.

The third race saw Vinci finish in 11th and claiming 16th for the final race of the weekend.

Round two of the 2025 Italian F4 Championship will occur on 25 May at Vallelunga.


IndyCar – Alabama

Will Power collected a solid haul of points after the Children’s of Alabama Indy Grand Prix.

Qualifying saw Power break into the top six, delivering his best time of 1:01.4576 and starting the race from 4th.

Power delivered a steady race, finishing in fifth, gaining 30 points towards the championship title.

The next round of the 2025 NTT INDYCAR SERIES takes place on 9–10 May for the Sonsio Grand Prix in Indianapolis.


Indy NXT – Alabama

Alabama proved a successful weekend for Lochie Hughes, finishing on the podium in third and maintaining his second-place position in the driver championship.

Australian, Tommy Smith, also competed in round two of the Indy NXT, qualifying sixth and finishing the race in 14th.

The next round of the 2025 Indy NXT Series heads off to Indianapolis on 9 -10 May.
