Aussies battle for points across Europe

British F4 – Thruxton

Aussie drivers Jimmy Piszyck and Xavier Avramides delivered a sensational performance last weekend at the high-speed Thruxton Circuit in Hampshire.

In a heated Qualifying session, Piszyck secured ninth, but Race One proved unlucky for the Aussie after contact with Fortec Motorsport’s Thomas Ingram on the opening lap forced an early retirement.

The incident, along with worsening rain, prompted a red flag and a 10 minute restart.

Avramides started Race One from the back of the grid but made steady progress, climbing to 10th by the chequered flag thanks to a well-timed safety car intervention in the wet conditions.

Race Two was another rain-affected battle, with Piszyck securing a podium finish in third, while Avramides impressed by surging from 24th to 13th, marking his first wet weather drive in the series.

The final race saw Piszyck gain three positions to cross the line in sixth, while Avramides wrapped up his weekend in 15th after another charge from 24th on the grid.

“It was important to keep up the momentum and keep on scoring good points over the weekend,” Piszyck said.

“It’s going to be a really competitive season, so to come away with a podium was massive for us.

“Qualifying was the one area that I would have liked a better outcome in, but we recovered well after what happened in race one. The track is very fast and it makes for good racing, so it gave me the chance to make up those places at the end of the weekend.”

Both Aussie drivers showed strong progress at Thruxton, adapting well to the challenging conditions and maintaining consistency across the races.

The next round of the 2025 British F4 Championship takes place at Oulton Park on 21-22 June.

Porsche Carrera Cup Italia – Vallelunga

The 2025 Porsche Carrera Cup Italia headed to Vallelunga for Rounds 3-4, with Australian Bayley Hall showing strong improvements across the weekend.

A difficult qualifying left Hall struggling for pace, resulting in a P14 start for Race One. However, the Aussie fought back in the race, gaining three positions to finish 11th.

He carried that momentum into Race Two, securing 10th, an impressive result in his first appearance of the season.

Hall now returns home for the 2025 Porsche Carrera Cup Australia at Hidden Valley Raceway, Darwin, on 20-22 June.

Formula Regional European Championship – Zandvoort

Jack Beeton faced a challenging weekend at Zandvoort, but his determination to improve bodes well for future rounds.

Mixed conditions in qualifying proved tricky, with a last-lap mistake costing Beeton a stronger grid position, leaving him 12th.

Race One saw the Australian make strong overtakes, climbing from 11th to ninth to secure Championship points.

However, Race Two was less fortunate, with Beeton finishing 17th after a tough battle.

The next round of the 2025 Formula Regional European Championship takes place in Budapest on 6 July.
