August begins with motorsport events in every state and territory this weekend, as part of a busy start to the month for both drivers and officials.
In total, there are 26 events, headlined by four State Championships – two of which will be Rally events.
The largest of the four, the 2025 Lazer Rally of the Bay, will feature crews tackling 10 demanding stages, including two night runs, as they rally through the roads of the Eurobodalla forests.
Other Championship events include Round 4 of the Motorsport Australia NSW Off Road Championship with the Dondingalong Off Road Challenge.
Round 3 of the MRF Tyres South Australian Rally Championship also takes place this weekend with Rally Barossa, and Round 7 of the NGK Victorian Motorkhana Championship at Avalon’s Almost Festival of Speed Motorkhana event near Geelong.
Victorian vintage car enthusiasts will also get a treat starting from today, as the Winton Festival of Speed returns again in 2025 and runs through to Sunday. The festival features over 300 of Australia’s best Race Cars including feature races and a grand parade of show cars each day.
The ACT also joins this weekend’s line-up of events, with the Southern District Motorsport Association hosting its SDMA One Lap Hillclimb event out at Fairbairn Park on Sunday.
In the Northern Territory, Alice Springs Off Road Race Club and North Australian Motor Sports Club each have events slated this weekend, hosting the Think Water 12 Hour Enduro and Jakes Steel & Welding Rejex Rally respectively.
Western Australia will host three events this weekend. Light Car Club of WA gets the action underway with one of its Khanacross sessions, while South West Touring Car Club is hosting an Autocross event at Bunbury Speedway and Toyota Car Club Perth (TECCWA) is hosting Event 4 of its RedMist Series.
