Motorsport Australia has opened the nomination period for the 2025 Motorsport Australia State and National Awards, proudly presented by Shannons Insurance.
These awards represent a time of celebration for the invaluable contributors across all levels of motorsport, from grassroots clubs to national level events.
Nominations are open across a range of categories, including the recognition of standout Motorsport Australia Officials with the Motorsport Australia State Official of the Year and the Australian Official of the Year. Competitors, administrative members and other key members of Australian motorsport have an opportunity to be nominated and celebrated.

The nomination is quick and easy to do and can be completed online using a computer, tablet or mobile phone. Criteria for each award is available to be viewed at motorsport.org.au/awards or through the nomination form.
Nominations close on Friday, 24 October 2025 at 5pm AEDT.
The Motorsport Australia Media Awards will open on 3 November 2025 and close Friday, 12 December 2025, allowing for content in the later part of the year to be eligible.

Successful nominations will help form the respective celebration evenings for all states and territories in 2026. Western Australia and Tasmania have both locked in their in-person awards nights on Friday 6 February and Saturday 7 February 2026 respectively.
Full details of these events and the other State and Territory awards nights details will be confirmed shortly. These evenings allow members to celebrate the year of achievements, in-person.
How do I nominate someone for an award?
Nomination forms can be submitted online at motorsport.org.au/awards.
What awards are open to nominate for?
Nominations for National and State Awards are open, with awards and criteria available at motorsport.org.au/awards or on the nomination form. Media Awards will be open later in 2025.
When do nominations close?
Nominations for National and State Awards close on Friday 24 October. Nominations will not be accepted after this date.
When will the Motorsport Australia Media Awards open?
Media award nominations will open on the Monday 3 November and close on Friday 12 December 2025.
Does the nominee need to be a Motorsport Australia member?
Yes, the Motorsport Australia Awards are intended to recognise individuals who contribute to Motorsport Australia clubs and events.
Please note that nominations from non-eligible disciplines, such as drag racing, karting, and speedway will generally not be considered unless the nominee has also made a significant contribution to Motorsport Australia sanctioned disciplines.
Do I need to be a Motorsport Australia member to nominate someone?
No, but it’s recommended to list at least one referee on the nomination who is a member.
How do I follow up on the outcome of the nomination I have made?
Depending on which award you have made a nomination for, most are deliberated during various meetings which take place during November or early December. As soon as there is an outcome and update available, the awards team will contact you to advise if your nomination has been successful.
How do I know if my nomination has been received?
Our awards team receives a substantial number of nominations from across the country each year. You will receive a confirmation of your nomination being successfully submitted and the Awards team will review the nomination and contact you for further information if required.
