Exhilarating muscle car action will return to Sydney Motorsport Park in 2026 with the Australian Muscle Car Masters (MCM) to return in 2026.

Recognised as one of Australia’s best-known heritage and classic car race meetings, the MCM will return to Sydney Motorsport Park on 29-30 August next year, after a multi-year hiatus.

The Australian Racing Drivers’ Club (ARDC), who started the event in 2006 in partnership with Australian Muscle Car Magazine, had received growing interest from categories, competitors, and fans calling for its return.

The event will feature vehicles ranging from classic touring cars to iconic race machines, and will showcase the vehicles and stories that have defined generations of racing.

ARDC CEO Glenn Matthews said the Muscle Car Masters has always been about the cars, the culture, and the people who shaped Australian motorsport.

“It was a crowd favourite for years, and the ARDC is thrilled to bring it back in 2026,” Matthews stated.

“This will mark the 18th running of MCM, giving long-time fans and a new generation the chance to experience the unique atmosphere and legendary machines that made it such an iconic event.

“The ARDC is dedicated to making memorable motorsport experiences, and Muscle Car Masters is exactly that.”

The event evolved into the Sydney Masterblast in 2019, but COVID-19 cancellations and lingering effects from the pandemic retired the event from the annual calendar in 2023.

The 2026 event promises to be a landmark celebration of Australian motorsport, under lights, with the passion and heritage of muscle car racing back on the centre stage of Australian motorsport.

Additional details on the event will be made available over the coming months at ardc.com.au.
