Motorsport Australia confirms a total of 600 officials will be in attendance across the Repco Bathurst 1000 weekend, for both the race and the wider event, including 473 officials assigned to pivotal race day roles.

The increase in the number of Motorsport Australia officials at the Repco Bathurst 1000 represents the motorsport community’s commitment to safe, fun and fair racing at one of Australia’s largest sporting events.

The Bathurst 1000 is a celebration of motorsport in Australia, with “The Great Race” attracting officials, new and experienced, from all over the country.

The officials tally is a 15 per cent increase on 2024, with the total number of race day officials also up 14 per cent.

Motorsport Australia Events Sporting Executive and Bathurst 1000 Secretary of the Event Kimberly Hughes said officials are united by their love of motorsport.

“Every role is vital to keeping the Repco Bathurst 1000 safe and fair. It’s a huge commitment which involves early mornings, long days, and total focus. The motorsport community is grateful for their contributions to this event,” Hughes said.

“This year’s increase in officials shows how strong the passion is within the motorsport community. We’re also seeing more young people and women joining the team, which is fantastic for the future of the sport. Everyone here shares the same goal, to deliver an unforgettable Repco Bathurst 1000.”

Being an official has broad appeal, as evidenced by the Bathurst 1000 officials cohort, with officials aged from 15- to 86-years-old on the ground at Mount Panorama.

Women officials are also becoming more involved, accounting for 34 per cent of the officials at the 2025 Repco Bathurst 1000, a five per cent increase on 2024.

Motorsport Australia Officials Manager Aidan Siegel welcomed the increased female participation in motorsport officiating.

“We’re pleased to see more women stepping into officiating roles, not just at Bathurst, which is always an exciting time of the year for our officials, but across all levels of motorsport,” Siegel said.

“It shows that the many pathways of officiating are open to everyone, and that passion, teamwork and commitment is what truly matters.

“The diversity within the officials community makes the sport stronger and ensures events like the Repco Bathurst 1000 continue to thrive.”
