Motorsport Australia is now calling for Expressions of Interest (EOI) for next year’s Motorsport Australia Speed and Auto Test Championships.
These events include the Motorsport Australia Motorkhana Championship, the Motorsport Australia Hill Climb Championship, the Motorsport Australia Supersprint Championship and the Motorsport Australia Khanacross Championship.
The Motorsport Australia Motorkhana Championship will be held in Victoria next year and Motorsport Australia is now taking expressions of interest from Victorian-based clubs for hosting rights in 2026.
It will be the first time the event will take place in Victoria since 2019 when Aaron Wuillemin won his first National Championship at the Bendigo Saleyards.
In 2026, New South Wales clubs have the opportunity to express their interest to host the Motorsport Australia Khanacross Championship. In 2019, the last time the event was held in New South Wales, Chris Granger won the event after it was run at two separate locations – Ringwood Motorsport Park and Awabawac Park.
Tasmanian, Northern Territory and Western Australian clubs will have the opportunity to host one or two events in 2026 through the expression of interest process.
The three states will be able to express interest to host the Motorsport Australia Hill Climb Championship and/or the Motorsport Australia Supersprint Championship.
Motorsport Australia Club and State Competition Manager Bruce Astbury stated there are several benefits to clubs from hosting a Motorsport Australia Speed and Auto Test Championship.
“Hosting a national championship is a fantastic opportunity for clubs around the country to play a valuable role in motorsport on a national stage,” Astbury said.
“It brings together competitors, officials and volunteers from all over the country, creating a unique sense of community and pride.
“Clubs can also gain valuable experience in event management and officiating at the highest level.
“Most importantly, it’s an opportunity to celebrate grassroots motorsport and contribute to the sport’s national growth.”
Hosting a National Championship can also provide an opportunity for clubs to increase their profile and reach, increases the opportunity for club officials to learn from senior Officials and undertake training at the event, and offers club competitors the opportunity to more accessibly participate in a National Championship event.
If a club is interested in hosting one of the Motorsport Australia Speed and Auto Test Championship events, submit an Expression of Interest.
