Western Australia celebrated the outstanding sporting achievements of competitors, clubs, volunteers and officials in 2025 at the Motorsport Australia WA State Awards, proudly presented by Shannons.

Invitees attended the event at Burswood on Swan on Friday 6 February, hosted by Motorsport Australia State and Club Competition Manager Bruce Astbury. WA State Council Chair Wendy Walker was in attendance, as well as WA Elected Director John Gibbons and other State Executive members and State Panel Chairs.

“Western Australia’s motorsport community continues to deliver outstanding results and strong events across a range of disciplines,” Gibbons said.

“It’s great to see so many individuals and clubs recognised for their dedication and achievements throughout the year.

“These contributions play a vital role in strengthening and growing motorsport across the state.”

WA Off Road Racing took home the WA Event of the Year for the 2025 WA Seedoo SXS Shootout.

This event demonstrated excellent organisation, effective safety management, and strong officiating, supported by dedicated volunteers. Its successful execution provided a positive experience for competitors and officials and reinforced the championship’s reputation as a flagship event in WA.

The WA Future Star award went to Zane Rhodes, recognised as an emerging talent following a strong 2025 season and rapid racing development.

Awarded for his outstanding dedication as a junior official, Craig Holmes was honoured as the State Junior Official of the Year.

Holmes’ positive contribution and commitment to safe event delivery and overall professionalism and eagerness to learn has granted him this achievement.

Jason Galea, celebrated for his positive contributions as an official across multiple events, was named the State Official of the Year.

Galea’s leadership and clear communication support safe, fair, and well-run motorsport meetings in Western Australia.

Motorsport Australia also congratulated special club milestones, acknowledging their dedication and commitment to the motorsport community over the decades.

Collie Motorplex Incorporated, Historic Commercial Vehicle Club (WA) Inc and Sports Car Builders Club of WA Inc all reached 25 years. R & S Series Valiant Car Club of Australia hit an impressive 50-year club millstone.

Motorsport Australia extends its congratulations to all award recipients and thanks the officials, volunteers, and supporters for their efforts in motorsport events in Western Australia.
