The Porsche Club of Victoria will once again hold its ever-popular Sandown 6 Hour Regularity next month, with entries for the annual event still being accepted.

Taking place at the famous Sandown International Raceway at the start of April, the event forms part of a unique pool of state-wide regularities in Victoria, which includes visits to Phillip Island and Winton Raceway.

Like most regularities, the Sandown 6 Hour Regularity will run in the traditional scoring format where teams and drivers are rewarded for their consistency of hitting the same lap times over their raw pace – meaning any type of car can be victorious.

During the event, drivers will be given one point for every tenth of a second exceeding their nominated lap time and two points for every tenth slower.

The end result will then be determined by the total sum of points for the drivers in a team divided by the sum of completed laps, with the team holding the lowest aggregate of points to be deemed the winners.

With a strong following of competitors taking part in the event, a variety of brands and makes are represented each year. And while Porsches usually have the biggest attendance, the range of other contending manufactures include Nissans, Holdens, Falcons, Hondas, Alfas, BMWs, Mazdas, MGs and Jaguars.

Entries will remain open until the day before the event with early bird pricing in effect until 29 March.

Although the Sandown 6 Hour Regularity has been a staple on the Victorian calendar for many years, the past eight years has seen the Porsche Car Club of Victoria produce an exciting documentary for the day.

Featuring many of the teams, while also focusing on a few select teams, the club’s documentary style post-event films add a unique value to each event.

In the lead up to the event, the Marque Sports Car Association will be holding a special Supersprint and Regularity event at Sandown themselves, with teams and drivers are welcome to attend.

The Sandown 6 Hour Regularity takes place at Sandown International Raceway on 7 April.
