Aussies collecting points abroad

GT World Challenge Asia – Fuji

Australian drivers impressed at Fuji last weekend, bringing home a haul of points towards the 2025 championship.

The first Qualifying session saw Jordan Love and teammate Prince Abu Bakar Ibrahim secure 4th, which they converted into a 3rd place finish for Race One.

Love and Ibrahim maintained their strong pace in Qualifying Two, securing second with a 1:38:469. Race Two wasn’t as lucky, with the team spinning on the final turn, resulting in P22.

Jayden Ojeda delivered a strong performance in Qualifying, securing 4th for both sessions.

Race One saw Ojeda start from 12th but only managed to make up two places to finish in 10th. However, Race Two is where the Aussie shone, with him and teammate Qi Cao pushing their Mercedes-AMG GT3 EVO to third at the finish line.

AMAC Motorsport duo Andrew Macpherson and William Porter made a good effort at Fuji, securing 28th for Race One and 16th for Race Two.

The next round takes place at the Okayama International Circuit on 29-31 August.

GB4 Championship – Snetterton

Young Aussie Jack Taylor had a successful weekend at Snetterton, coming home with a top 10 finish and a podium.

Taylor made a decent comeback in Race One, climbing from 12th to finish 9th behind Enzo Hallman. Race Two concluded with 13th for Taylor, with a time of 1:49:403.

The last race was Taylor’s most impressive result, beginning on pole and coming away with 2nd place and the fastest lap.

Round 5 of the 2025 GB4 Championship takes place on 2-3 August at Silverstone.

Italian F4 – Mugello

Dante Vinci has concluded his race weekend at Mugello on a high note, coming home with two top ten finishes and a rookie podium.

Lining up in 19th at the start of Race One, Vinci climbed to 15th by the end of the race, only thousandths of a second behind David Walther.

Race Two saw Vinci finish 10th with a time of 1:51.078, while also securing a rookie podium for this race.

Vinci continued his strong performance to claim 10th in the final race, another positive result for the Aussie.

The next Italian F4 round takes place in Imola on 3 August.

Indy NXT – Iowa

Tommy Smith’s weekend at Iowa Speedway was towards the lower end of his performances this season by his standard, with the Aussie qualifying 16th.

However, Smith didn’t go home empty-handed. He finished the 75 lap race in 17th, collecting 13 points towards the driver championship.

The next round of the 2025 Indy NXT Series heads to Monterey, California on 25-26 July.
