The Australian rally community is buzzing with FIA Junior World Rally Championship competitor Taylor Gill confirming he will be part of Rally NSW’s upcoming Narooma Forest Rally on September 13.
One of world rally’s rising stars, Gill currently leads the Junior WRC field, after several standout performances during the 2025 season.

Alongside co-driver Daniel Brkic (who will also compete alongside Gill in Narooma), Gill has compiled 100 points to lead the Junior WRC standings, just ahead of Sweden’s Mille Johansson (86 points) and Turkey’s Ali Türkkan (65 points).
Gill’s next Junior WRC appearance takes place on 16-19 October at the Central European Rally in Passau. Until then, Gill will make a stop-off in Australia to compete in the Narooma forests, despite typically being based in Finland during the rally season.
Gill took to social media to make his announcement.
“Super excited to be heading home to tackle the Narooma Forest Rally on September 13th in the Shamrock Motorsport Toyota GR Yaris AP4,” Gill posted.
“Dan and I are looking forward to the challenge of stepping up to this level of car and are looking forward to enjoying the incredible NSW south coast stages.
“Massive thanks to Richie and Shamrock Haulage Pty Ltd for this incredible opportunity.”
Gill and Brkic’s announcement also signals the first time the pair will compete in a Rally2-style car, entrusted with Richie Dalton’s Toyota GR Yaris AP4 to participate in the rally.

A four-time winner of the Rally of the Bay and a front-running NSW Rally Championship competitor, Dalton spoke highly of Gill’s career to On The Dirt.
“Taylor is one of the most talented young drivers we’ve seen come through in years, and Daniel is a top-class co-driver,” Dalton said.
“Giving them the chance to drive the Yaris AP4 at Narooma is a privilege, and I can’t wait to see what they can do with it on these roads.
“This car has a strong history in NSW rallying. It’s quick, competitive, and capable of winning at the highest level. The Narooma stages will be a great test of their skills, with a mix of fast, flowing sections and tricky technical bits.
“I honestly think Taylor is the best chance Australia has got for a future World Rally Champion. But talent alone isn’t enough, he needs serious backing from Australian businesses and corporations to keep climbing.”
The return for Gill is also a chance to compete again in NSW, the state where his rally career first started in 2020 while still on his learner’s permit.

The Narooma Forest Rally is the second-last round of the Shamrock Haulage NSW Rally Championship. Crews will take on nine stages over 175 kilometres in the event.
