Some stellar racing from three Australian drivers on both sides of the Atlantic, rounded out a respectable weekend of racing abroad.
Tom Sargent
Tom Sargent continued his successful season in the GT World Challenge America in Rounds 9 and 10 at Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wiconsin – drama not withstanding.
Starting Race 1 in the garage behind primary driver Kyle Washington in the Porsche 992 GT3 R and 12th on the grid, Sargent bided his time as long as race directors would allow in treacherous conditions.
After 14 laps, organisers saw no reason to continue the session as rain and two full course yellow flags brought the race to a close.
Washington and Sargent would finish in the same position they started and eighth in the Pro-Am class, 25 seconds off the leaders.
The spotlight shifted over to Sargent for Sunday’s race with more favourable weather overhead.
The GMG Racing team this time started 4th on the grid, with Sargent behind wheel and chasing a podium finish in the Pro-Am class.
Prior to changeover, Sargent raced well, getting as high up the order as third before dropping back down to fifth.
As half the field went into the pits at the halfway mark of the race, Sargent pushed ahead into a 22nd lap gaining a couple extra positions, before pulling in to swap with Washington in 2nd despite battling gearbox issues.
Ultimately the pair finished the session 9th outright and 5th in the class after 41 laps. Sargent was also credited with the team’s fastest lap on Lap 3 with a time of 2:06.316.
Sargent and Washington sit in 4th on the overall standings with 69 points, and still yet to take home a class win.
The pair’s next opportunity will be when the GT World Challenge America field heads to Barber Motorsports Park in Alabama from 5-7 September for Rounds 11 and 12.
Jimmy Piszcyk & Xavier Avramides
The British F4 Championship travelled to Scotland’s Knockhill Racing Circuit, for Rounds 19, 20 and 21 in the city of Fife.
Tight racing got underway instantly with all 23 drivers in the field finishing the first qualifying session of the weekend within a second of each other.
Shortly after in Race 1, Jimmy Piszcyk (Rodin Motorsport) fell just outside the podium following a 20-lap bout in Race 1.
However, he was part of a captivating battle for fourth place under immense pressure from Ethan Jeff-Hall as soon as the race began.
Piszcyk spent the first half of the encounter defending against the Mercedes F1 Junior, while Challenge Cup leader Tommy Harfield and title contender Martin Molnár were poised to take advantage of any errors ahead.

After running side-by-side on countless occasions, Jeff-Hall finally found a way past a defiant Piszcyk, and a feisty move opened the door enough for Harfield and Molnár to take a position.
Unfortunately for Harfield, a post-race penalty meant he ultimately finished seventh, with Piszcyk then bumped up to sixth.
After incurring a DNF in Race 1, Xavier Avramides (Hitech TGR) was poised to bounce back in Race 2. He did exactly that, not only finishing the race, but also placing inside the top 15.
Piszcyk started Race 2 sixth on the grid, gaining one position throughout the session to finish Round 20 in fifth and add to his season points total, also grabbing a best lap time of 49.228 seconds.
Piszyck’s weekend finished in the middle of the race order, placing 11th in the third and final race of the weekend, unfortunately four spots lower than his starting grid position.
For Avramides, Round 21 was his high point. Starting way back in 16th, the youngster weaved his way up the order and stormed home to finish the 23-lap effort in sixth.

Piszyck remains third in the championship on 190 points with three stops still to go on the calendar, while Avramides hopes to remain inside the top 20 and build on his 27 points for the season.
The performances for both Piszcyk and Avramides put them in good stead for Donington Park on 30-31 August.
