Weekend Warm-Up: 29-31 August

This weekend’s motorsport program features events across seven states and territories, as clubland and its vital volunteers dominate the busy schedule over the next two days.

Victoria’s motorsport action will be led by the Westmere Motor Sport, who host their August Motorkhana on Saturday and Sunday, meanwhile those interested in getting into motorsport can attend Alfa Romeo Owners’ Club Of Australia’s (Victoria) Come and Try Day at Broadford Speedway on Sunday, which will run in conjunction with Round 5 of its Sprint season.

A welcome ACT-based event is also on the agenda, with Southern District Motorsports Association hosting one of its Tri-Series Hillclimb events at Fairburn Park on Sunday.

A half-dozen programs in Queensland give the Sunshine State the largest share of events this weekend.

To name a few, the Warwick District Sporting Car Club will host Round 3 of the club’s Queensland Super Sprint Series at Morgan Park Raceway from today, FNQ Motorsports Club will run Round 3 of its Gravel Khanacross season at Tepon Raceway from tomorrow, and a community-oriented Display Day and Concours will take over Bischof Pioneer Park in Nerang, brought to life by the Gold Coast MG Car Club.

The lone National-level event this weekend takes place at Sydney Motorsport Park, as the Motorsport Australia 2025 Trophy Tour Series enters its sixth round.

Running over Saturday and Sunday, the Australian Racing Drivers Club will take on the hosting duties to ensure a safe and fun event featuring an array of categories.

In New South Wales, the Historic Sports and Racing Car Association will run its 2025 Goulburn Historics event at One Raceway. The event features historic motor racing for all historic categories, as well as speed competition for Supersprint and Regularity categories.

Other events including the Grafton Sporting Car Club’s Annual Historic Hillclimb heads to Mountain View Motorsport Complex. The Toyosports Car Club Of New South Wales has Autocross scheduled for Colo Park and the MG Car Club of Newcastle’s Ringwood Park TAR Series Hillclimb Championship goes into Round 5.

Events of note in other states range from Light Car Club of WA’s Khanacross event on Sunday at Ninigo Farm, Porsche Club of SA’s second Motorkhana of the year at The Bend, and Motor Sports Club of Tasmania’s fourth round of its Khanacross Series at the club’s KhanaPark at Symmons Plains Raceway.
