Every state and territory will add to this weekend’s strong slate of motorsport events as club-level cups and series draw to a close for 2025, and a pair of popular events round out a busy end-of-week for the rally community.
The Sunraysia Safari Cross Country Rally is underway in the Wentworth Shire, with drivers setting up shop right on the edge of outback New South Wales until Saturday afternoon as they undertake 1,200 kilometres of stages over four days.
Further west on the New South Wales south coast is the 2025 Narooma Forest Rally, which forms part of the Motorsport Australia NSW Rally Championship.
This year’s event will be held by the ACT-based Brindabella Motor Sports Club on Saturday and has already drawn the interest and registration of Junior World Rally Championship driver and co-driver pairing Taylor Gill and Daniel Brkic.
In clubland, Westlakes Automobile Club hosts its September Club Khanacross at Awabawac Park, Lithgow District Car Club will do the same at Yvonne Martin Motorsport Park, and the Peugeot Car Club of NSW hosts its annual All French Car Day at Ansell Park this Sunday.
South Australia has its hands full with motorsport this weekend as thousands of spectators head to Tailem Bend for the first round of the Repco Supercars Championship’s Ryco Enduro Cup, the AirTouch 500.
The 500 kilometre main race will be the first race of the endurance season featuring co-drivers at Shell-V Motorsport Park from Friday to Sunday before the season heads to the famed Mount Panorama in October.
South Eastern Automobile Club will also have its hands full at Mount Gambier Saleyards, hosting Round 2 of its Khanacross Series, Round 4 of its Motorkhana Series, Round 4 of the South Australian Khanacross Championship, and Round 8 of the Victorian Khanacross Championship over both Saturday and Sunday.
The Queensland Super Sprint Series draws to a close this weekend with the Warwick District Sporting Car Club hosting the fourth and final round of 2025 from today. The annual edition of Pittsworth Sprints again return to Pittsworth for three days of action, providing spectators a great opportunity to see both burnouts and sprint action at Pittsworth Industrial Estate. Motorsport Australia will also host a FIA Girls on Track Rally School event at the Ipswich West Moreton Auto Club tomorrow.
Victoria is set to host a total of four events this weekend, with the Victorian Mini Club, Gippsland Car Club, MG Car Club Geelong and the SXS Trail Riders all busy over the weekend.
In Western Australia, we see three different proceedings at three different venues. WA Sporting Car Club will host Round 5 of its Circuit Racing Series at Carco.com.au Raceway, Mini Car Club of WA hosts Round 5 of the Motorsport Australia WA State Motorkhana Championship in Neerabup, and the Beverley Off Road Motorsports Association will welcome drivers to its Driver Development Day and Khanacross at the club’s motorplex.
Elsewhere, the Central Australian Rally Sports Club is hosting its Come and Try Khanacross on event Sunday at the Finke Desert Race Complex and the Motor Sports Club of Tasmania will host of the fourth round of the Motorsport Australia Tasmanian Motorkhana State Championship.
