This weekend is set up to be a bumper few days, specifically for the south eastern states of the country, with Victoria, New South Wales, South Australia and Tasmania hosting 33 of the 34 events on the motorsport schedule.
Further north, Queensland will host Round 8 of Douglas Shire Motor Sport Association’s Club Championship and the first round of the club’s Inter Club Challenge, taking place on Saturday and Sunday in North Mossman.
New South Wales’ 13 permitted events this weekend are the most for any state, including a State Championship event – the Hunter Rivmasta Warialda Off Road 200 which will take drivers through and around Warialda along the 200km course in Round 5 of the Motorsport Australia NSW Off Road Championship.
New South Wales is also hosting a raft of club events, including Rounds 5 and 6 of the Grafton Sporting Car Club’s Hillclimb Series, Round 4 of the BMW Drivers Club of NSW Motorkhana season, the Back to the Past Khanacross at Hills District Car Club, and a club rallysprint event for September at the Westlakes Automobile Club.
It is also a great weekend for new or beginner-level drivers with several Come and Try and Social events on the cards.
In Victoria, Shepparton & District Car Club will run a Come and Try session in conjunction with its ninth round of its khanacross season, while the Maffra and District Car Club is running a Junior Development Program session on Sunday at the Boisdale Hillclimb Complex.
Motorsport Australia’s First Gear program will return to Sydney Motorsport Park’s Skid Pan next Wednesday, offering a mid-week option for individuals aged between 12 and 17 eager to get a taste for motorsport (registrations are closed).
South Australia will host a quartet of events ranging from the Impreza WRX Owners Club of SA’s 2025 Hillclimb Challenge, to Round 4 of the the Marque Sports Car Association Of SA’s Supersprint series, and the South Eastern Automobile Club Of SA’s fourth Autocross event for 2025 – all of which will be held on Sunday.
The majority of the focus, however, will be directed to Shell V-Power Motorsport Park for The Bend Nationals, which forms part of the SA Motor Racing Championship on the venue’s 4.95km International Circuit over Saturday and Sunday, featuring categories such as Formula Regional, Saloon Car Nationals, Formula Vee and Formula 4.
A pair of events on the Apple Isle will share the weekend. Round 5 of the Motorsport Australia Circuit Racing Championship will run over two days at Symmons Plains Raceway, and the North West Car Club is in preparation to run a club khanacross in Highclere tomorrow only.
