The motorsport community enters October full of excitement with an action-packed weekend ahead.
Starting in New South Wales, motorsport fans have a pair of events to enjoy this weekend including a social event hosted by the British Ford Club of New South Wales with the MK1 Cortina Nationals to descend on Bathurst’s main street Sunday, ahead of next weekend’s Bathurst 1000.
A pair of events are also set to take place in the Northern Territory. The North Australian Motor Sports Club will host Round 6 of the NT Motorkhana Championship at Hidden Valley Motorsport Complex Saturday, and the Central Australian Rally Sports Club will host Round 3 of its Khanacross Series Sunday at the Finke Desert Race Complex.
Queensland will get a twist of off road action, as hundreds of competitors gather in Millchester for the Gold City 450, while the Qarwick District Sporting Car Club hosts the fourth round of the Queensland Super Sprint Series at Morgan Park.
The 31 Bends of Barrington will be the lone event in Tasmania on Saturday, a historic hill climb event situated next to Lake Barrington. Across the country in Western Australia, the South West Touring Car Club will host its sixth autocross event of the year Saturday and the Light Car Club of WA again hosts the Safari Rallysprint in Mundaring on Sunday.
The Sporting Car Club of South Australia leads the way for events this week, hosting its annual Barossa Vintage Collingrove Hillclimb event on Sunday, one of the club’s longest running events. The Tarmac Junior Development Program Association of South Australia will host its second junior development day on Sunday.
The event count for Victoria is into double digits with 10 lined up over the next two days. Among the marquee proceedings include Round 5 of the TRICO Victorian State Circuit Racing Championship at Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit from Friday to Sunday, the Westmere Motor Sport’s October Motorkhana, and the MG Car Club of Victoria’s third round of its Interclub Challenge hill climb series.
