The highly anticipated conclusion of the EROAD Australian Rally Championship (ARC) has arrived, with the Buckby Motors Rally Tasmania drawing an abundance of interest among this weekend’s motorsport schedule.
With action to officially commence Saturday, the Burnie-based event will serve as the sixth and final round of the ARC, as well as the final round of the Motorsport Australia Tasmanian Rally Championship and will provide a major boon to the state’s northwestern coast.
In New South Wales, the Central North Coast Sporting Car Club will play host to a couple of events this weekend. The first on Saturday, the club will host its Calder-Love Concreting Bush Khanacross, before hosting its S1 Rallysprint event Sunday. Both proceedings take place at Nabiac Motorsport Complex.
The final leg of the Wollongong Sporting Car Club Tri-Series will also take place Sunday at the Huntley Hillclimb, with a tight finish expected between the three clubs: Wollongong Sporting Car Club, Southern Districts Motorsports Association and Cooma Car Club.
Warwick Sporting Car Club hosts the fourth round of the Queensland Super Sprint Series C Series at Morgan Park Raceway from Friday, the Thornton Off Road Enduro is off and running, and Motorsport Australia rounds out the weekend of events in Queensland with another edition of Girls on Track Rally School at Ipswich West Moreton Auto Club on Saturday.
A pair of events are taking place in South Australia, one of which is already underway. The iconic Legend of the Lakes Hillclimb began on Thursday and will run through Sunday at the Valley Lakes Precinct, made possible by the South Eastern Automobile Club. The Marque Sports Car Association of South Australia will run Round 5 of its supersprint series, while also incorporating Superkart Racing into the program, on Sunday at Mallala Motorsport Park.
Nine events lead Victoria’s weekend of motorsport, headlined by the Victorian Historic Racing Register’s Historic Sandown, setting the tone for one of the state’s biggest weeks of motorsport on the calendar ahead of next weekend’s Penrite Oil Sandown 500.
At the club level, Maffra and District Car Club, Deniliquin Sporting Car Club and the Holden Sporting Car Club of Victoria all have events lined up for this weekend.
