Toyota Australia opens applications for Girls on Track placements

Toyota Australia is offering an exciting opportunity this year for five Girls on Track participants to take part in the Empower program.

The program includes one placement per event, with an Empower participant working alongside Toyota Australia’s Senior Public Affairs Specialist – Product & Motorsport.

The placements will take place at the Sydney 500 (20-22 February), Townsville 500 (10-12 July), Ipswich Super 440 (21-23 August), Bathurst 1000 (8-11 October) and Sandown 500 (13-15 November).

The successful applicant at each event will shadow key staff members in the Toyota GR CUP series and assist with key activities within a race weekend, including but not limited to:

  • Taking photos/videos & posting
  • Posting photography/videos from content teams
  • Engaging with driver social content
  • Assisting with any tasks that come up including advising new drivers of social tagging etc.
  • Writing the recap press release, choosing top 6 images, and assisting with any other marketing/PR activities that come up.
  • Visiting Walkinshaw Andretti United and/or Brad Jones Racing teams to meet with their PR/Social member(s)
  • Introduction to any key contacts
  • TMCA will also provide: GR top, GR cap, ticket & lunch/snacks/drinks

Applications will be based on geographical location and is open to 18–22 year olds with proven interest and experience in PR, Media & Content, ideally studying Public Relations, Communications or Media.

Applications require a resume and cover letter along with questions to be completed. Place of residence will be asked for during the application process.

All applicants must be available for all days, have their own mode of transport and accommodation close to the event.

The successful applicant will be required to hold a current Motorsport Australia Officials licence and Working with Children Check. Successful candidates will be required to complete a daily workbook of their experience.

Applications will close Friday 30 January 2026 with shortlisted interviews to commence in early February for all placements.

Placements will be made for each of the five upcoming events by the end of February.
