A strong turnout at the 2025 South Australia/Northern Territory Awards Night provided the perfect backdrop for the penultimate state awards night for the year.
The evening was held in Fullerton’s Arkaba Hotel where dozens of class and category awards were given out to worthy recipients, in addition to special awards highlighting the exceptional contributions over the past year from select individuals.
The event was hosted by Motorsport Australia State and Competition Manager Bruce Astbury, accompanied by State Council Chair Adrian Flynn, Elected Director Kristen Bailey, State Executives, panel members, and distinguished guests.

“The awards ceremony was about recognising the people and events that keep motorsport thriving across South Australia and the Northern Territory,” Bailey said.
“The night recognised a range of recipients, from rising stars to lifelong contributors; each of the awards reflects unlimited passion and commitment that continues to drive our sport forward.
“We’re proud as an organisation and a state to celebrate everyone who gives their time and effort to make motorsport possible.”
The 2025 SA/NT State Event of the Year was awarded to Hillclimb SA for the delivery of the 2025 Motorsport Australia Hillclimb Championship.
The championship brought together around 120 competitors for two days of competition and delivered a smooth and professionally run event, supported by an experienced officiating team. Feedback from competitors was overwhelmingly positive, particularly for the challenge of the venue and the fresh approach of a new promoter.

The SA/NT Future Star Award went to Jett Zerk for his rapid progression in both khanacross and circuit racing, namely for a strong 2025 Circuit Excel season and impressive improvement against senior fields.
The SA/NT State Motorsport Official of the Year was presented to David Langfield, recognised for more than 20 years of service, including leadership and mentoring in pit lane and grid roles from club meetings through to major national and international events.
Langfield is widely respected for preparation, professionalism and for building strong teams, ensuring officials are supported, trained and confident in high-pressure environments.
Other leading officials who received awards included Brendan Wegener (Auto Test), Rick Staehr (Speed), Danny Claridge (Rally), Kim Morrison (Circuit) and Dave Stimson (Off Road).

In addition to the five Service Awards presented on the night, Tony Morgan was the recipient of the Motorsport Australia Service Star. Morgan was recognised for decades of devotion to the sport through timing, event organisation and club leadership, including long-term service as Competition Secretary and sustained commitment to running and improving regularity competition.
Champions were also crowned across motorkhana, khanacross, rally, autocross, hill climb, off road and circuit racing disciplines.
Motorsport Australia congratulates all award recipients and acknowledges the dedication of the officials, volunteers and supporters who help deliver motorsport in both South Australia and the Northern Territory.
