For the first time in 2026, Motorsport Australia affiliated clubs will run 40 events inside the same week, with a large rundown of events taking place this weekend.
The amount of events locked in for this week is impressive, and so too is the variety of event types. This weekend alone, there are 14 different types of motorsport events ranging from hill climb to circuit racing to supersprints, to name a few.
This weekend marks the opening of the 2026 EROAD Australian Rally Championship with the Accent Benchtops Rally Queensland in Gympie. Rally Queensland headlines the event line-up in Queensland, whereas Central Coast Car Club and Whitsunday Sporting Car Club host a pair of khanacross events. Beginning Friday, Rockhampton residents can also look forward to Rockynats at the local showgrounds.
The North Australian Motor Sports Club will run the fourth round of its state motorkhana championship in the Northern Territory, while the Motor Sports Club of Tasmania prepares for Round 2 of its club khanacross series.
New South Wales will host a whopping 14 events over the weekend, predominantly through grassroots gatherings, including the Bathurst Light Car Club, New England Sporting Car Club and Westlakes Automobile Club. The Australian Racing Drivers Club will spend its weekend facilitating both a Women & Wheels Introductory Motorkhana and a Come and Try Day event program on Sunday.
The Austin 7 Club readies itself for its first Observed Section Trial of the year in Warburton, Victoria. Maffra and District Car Club shifts its focus to junior development and the North Eastern Car Club heads to the Warby-Ovens National Park for the Killawarra Rallysprint.
Five events are marked in Western Australia, hosted by WA Sporting Car Club, Collie Motorplex, TECCWA, Light Car Club of WA and South West Touring Car Club.
