Officiating is the best way of getting close to the action without being in the drivers seat, ensuring events are conducted safely, fairly and that the rules and regulations are upheld.

Whether it’s events such as the Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix or a club-level motorkhana or hill climb, there are many opportunities to begin your journey as a Motorsport Australia Official.

First Gear

First Gear is the easiest and cheapest intro to motorsport, if you’re aged 12–17.

You’ll be provided with a car for the day, and you’ll buddy up with a race driver instructor to coach you.

Whether you want to get into circuit racing, rally or off road racing, First Gear is the first step.

Esports

Esports offers a great low cost entry point into motorsport suitable for all ages, skill levels and budgets. Starting your journey in esports can be as simple as using your mobile phone, tablet, console, or PC with a basic controller.

The great thing about esports is that you can race with like-minded enthusiasts from all around the world on a variety of cars, tracks and disciplines.

FIA Girls on Track

FIA Girls on Track offers a range of opportunities for young women to get involved in motorsport. 

The goal of these events are to inspire, encourage, and support young women who are interested in a career in motorsport. 

Young women can get hands-on experience in many areas of motorsport including driving, engineering, media, team management and more. 

Women's Introduction to Motorsport Program

The Women’s Introduction to Motorsport program is open to women looking to get a start in motorsport.

The program covers off a range of topics and experiences, all designed for participants to experience motorsport for the first time and in the familiarity of their own road car.

With more than 3,000 events per year and nearly 600 affiliated car clubs, Motorsport Australia is proud to facilitate motor sport at all levels ranging from club level motorkhanas, through to the Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix.
