It is with great sadness that CAMS advises of the recent passing of former CAMS members Bill Prowse.
At 94-years-old, Bill was known for being the VHRR’s oldest CAMS license holder, having held his speed licence up until 2017.
During his younger years, the car enthusiast spent his time competing in a variety of regularities and hill climbs after getting his first taste of motor sport not long after the conclusion of the second world war.
One of his more notable escapades was competing at the Ballarat aerodrome behind the wheel of the his iconic Riley RM series executive car.
More recently, Bill was named as the Elfin Clubman of the Year in 2001 and spent his last years in the sport occasionally competing in regularities with his limited edition historic Alfa Romeo.
Funeral arrangements for Bill Prowse will be advised shortly.
