Entering under the team banner of ‘Team Tradie’, Jason Bright will field two Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR cars in this year’s inaugural TCR Australia Series.

After visiting Malaysia to witness the TCR Asia Series last weekend, the 1998 Bathurst 1000 winner has secured the two VWs – one of which was a race winner in Sepang.

“I went to Malaysia on the weekend and purchased the car that actually won the weekend. I know it’s got good form, so I can’t wait to get it to Australia, have a test and get ready for Round One,” Bright said.

“The class is perfect for Australia. Affordable, competitive and relevant to the current motoring market. I really feel it’s going to be a great addition to the motor sport landscape.”

Outside of his racing career, which included 260 Supercars starts, Bright has established his own trade solutions business called Taskforce. The ‘Team Tradie’ concept will feature support from Taskforce, with a competition to be developed for one lucky fan to sample the VW TCR.

More information on the team and competition can be found at http://teamtradie.taskforce.com.au and become a free Team Tradie Member.

“The idea behind Team Tradie was to add to the Taskforce concept that I’ve been running for a few years now. It will give anyone a chance to be involved, and possibly drive of my VW Golf,” Bright said.

“There will be more details and promotions to wrap around this concept and one TEAM TRADIE Member will have a chance to jump behind the wheel of our TCR VW Golf, we can’t say much more about it at the moment but grab your free Team Tradie Membership.”

Bright will get his first taste of the Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR at a test day in the coming weeks ahead of the first round of the TCR Australia Series at Sydney Motorsport Park on May 17–19.

Every round of TCR Australia will be held alongside the Shannons Nationals – with live, free and HD broadcast coverage on SBS.
