Australian Racing Group has secured another popular category to add to its ranks.
Australian Racing Group (ARG) has added another category to its growing repertoire after securing the commercial management rights for the Paynter Dixon Touring Car Masters.

The popular series, which features a number of iconic cars from Australia’s impressive touring car history, will join TCR Australia, TCR New Zealand and S5000 under the ARG banner, with the current Tony Hunter led management to finish at the end of 2019.

Formed in 2007, the category has become quite popular amongst motor sport fans with a large selection of cars pre 1981 on display, including the iconic Falcon GTs, BOSS Mustangs, and Chevrolet Camaros.

While the list of competing cars are certainly familiar, the figures behind the wheel are just as impressive with Australian veterans John Bowe, Jim Richards, Glenn Seton, Steve Johnson and Tony Longhurst all part of the line-up.

Director of Australian Racing Group Matt Braid was thrilled with ARG obtaining the rights to the popular category.

“We are extremely pleased to have concluded an agreement with Tony to assume the strategic and commercial management of the Paynter Dixon Touring Car Masters,” Braid. said

“TCM is such and iconic and popular race category in Australia – with fans, event promoters and broadcasters, and compliments the existing categories in ARG’s portfolio.

“We look forward to working with Tony Hunter and the TCM entrants to continue to build on the category’s strengths while pursuing additional opportunities for TCM that being part of Australian Racing Group will provide.”

The current season of the Paynter Dixon Touring Car Masters is well underway with Queensland Raceway hosting the next round as part of Supercars’ Ipswich SuperSprint, while the category will also feature in the Muscle Car Masters Race at Sydney Motorsport Park on 6-8 September.
