The 2020 Porsche PAYCE Carrera Cup season will see an increase in financial support.

Porsche PAYCE Carrera Cup teams have received a major boost ahead of the 2020 season, with Porsche Australia offering a travel and participation support package worth $225,000.

Porsche Cars Australia announced the package, which includes a record range of assistance, as a way to continue their support for teams and competitors participating in the 2020 season.

The new measures will now include two separate forms of assistance, with competitors having access to a travel rebate and a participation rebate.

The travel rebate will see an increase on the already active travel rebate, which will see competitors receive support for rounds four and five of the 2020 season currently scheduled in Townsville and Darwin.

As for the participation rebate, competitors who compete in all of rounds one to four and five to eight are eligible, with around $120,000 part of Porsche Cars Australia’s second support measure.

In what is a first for the one-make category, Porsche Cars Australia’s Head of Motorsport Troy Bundy was excited to have these financial support opportunities on offer.

“Offering our drivers, teams and customers this record financial support is hugely gratifying,” Bundy said.

“None of this would be possible without Porsche’s ongoing commitment to Australian motor sport and our partners such as PAYCE who recently renewed their sponsorship of the series until the end of 2021.

“Having celebrated 15 seasons of Carrera Cup this year, Porsche is looking forward to an exciting 2020 with improved calendars, television packages, prizes as well the highly regarded Michelin Junior Driver Development program.”

The 2020 Porsche PAYCE Carrera Cup season begins at the Superloop Adelaide 500 Adelaide on 20-23 February.
