The MRF Tyres Australian Production Cars Series (APC) has confirmed the details for next year’s first round with the Production Car Nationals to open the 2020 season in style.
Taking place at Sydney Motorsport Park on 6-8 March, the event will host a number of national and state categories along with the headline act, the APC Sydney 240.
The Australian Prototype Series and the Australian Pulsar Racing Association will start their 2020 seasons in Sydney, while the New South Wales Production Touring Cars and Production Sports cars will represent the state level competitions.
The Production Car Nationals will also have the inaugural running of the MRF Tyres Invitational – a special race which will see the top three cars from each class in the APC, NSW Production Touring Cars and the top five Pulsars go against each other in a 15-lap sprint.
With the bumper first round now locked in, category manager Iain Sherrin was excited to get the new season underway.
“Following such a great end to our 2019 season, I am very excited to officially confirm some further details for our first round of 2020,” Sherrin, said.
“The event will host not only racing for the MRF Tyres APC competitors utilising the increasingly popular four one-hour race format, but also the special MRF Tyres Invitational with this 15-lap sprint to provide the perfect conclusion to what should be a fantastic three days of racing action at Sydney Motorsport Park.”
Following on from the Production Cars Nationals, the category will then have their next four rounds as part of the Shannons Motorsport Australia Championships before their season finale, which is still to be confirmed.
The Production Car Nationals take place at Sydney Motorsport Park on 6–8 March, 2020.
