This Week in Motorsport: 5-8 December

Shannons Adelaide Rally

When: 4-7 December 

Where: Adelaide Hills

A huge event on the motor sport calendar as more than 300 entries take part in the four-day rally that re-lives the classic Adelaide Rally stages as well as incorporating a modern touch. 

Comprising of 30 stages spread across the Fleurieu Peninsula, the Adelaide CBD and the picturesque Adelaide Hills, crews will undergo up to 160 competitive kilometres on a number of highly challenging hill climb-style roads.

It’s not just the rally that will draw crowds with all the supporting activations to give the event a festival feel. Rally fans have the option to head to the Amadio Wines Gouger Street Party on Friday, or the Birdwood Lunch Stop and East End Finale Party on Saturday.

Round 3 Top End Mud Racing Series

When: 7 DecemberWhere: Downes Park

Things are planning to get a little messy at Downes Park this weekend as the Top Mud Racing Series returns to what is a hugely popular night of off-road racing at Darwin’s famous Hidden Valley Raceway. 

All types of cars are welcome as competitors go head-to-head on a tough 700 metre track which contains various obstacles, jumps, dips, gutters, mud holes and water holes.

A fun night out for the whole family, the entertainment is nonstop with a partylike atmosphere and tickets are available from $5 upwards or $40 for a family pass.

AROCA Phillip Island Sprint

When: 8 December 

Where: Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit

The Victorian club celebrates its 50th anniversary this weekend with the final sprint of the year putting an end to a busy eight-round season.

The event will feature a range of Alfa Romeos split into four groups where they will get six runs each on the famous Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit.

In celebration of its major milestone, the club will also be holding a special parade during the day with an all-inclusive team and club photo to wrap up the event.
