The RSEA Safety Motorsport Australia Rally Championship (ARC) has launched a new web series focused at giving fans an insight into a number of notable Australian rally individuals from the present to yesteryear.

Hosted by Innate Motorsport’s Adrian Coppin, ARC Service Park will release a new episode each week via Motorsport Australia’s YouTube channel as Coppin asks all the tough questions about life on and off the gravel.

The first episode welcomes current ARC champions Harry Bates and John McCarthy with the Toyota Gazoo Razing representatives discussing the 2019 season, the Toyota relationship, their future aspirations and much more.

During the episode, Bates highlighted how difficult it actually was to win the ARC and how his expectations were exceeded.

"The Australian Rally Championship is not an easy championship to win," Bates said.

"Naively I entered five years ago as a 20-year-old thinking I could get some good results and one day be the Australian champion. But the work involved in becoming that and the expectation you need to gather before you get to that point is huge.

"It took longer than I expected, but looking back now, everything I learnt along the way is what added up to a Championship win."
