The schedule for the first Virgin Australia Supercars Championship round since the Superloop Adelaide 500 in February has been released, with three 130 kilometre sprint races to form part of the round.
With Sydney Motorsport Park to host the championship’s second round for 2020 at the end of June, there are 24 entries confirmed for the much-awaited return to racing.
Starting off with a 20-minute rookie-only session on the morning of Saturday 27 June, the full field will then get their chance to practice with two sessions later that morning.
In a similar formation to Formula 1, ARMOR ALL Qualifying will be split into three sessions, with the four slowest lap times from the first session to be eliminated before another five drivers are eliminated at the conclusion of Q2.
The results from the two qualifying sessions set up the ARMOR ALL Top 15 Shootout with the winner to earn pole for the 33-lap sprint on Saturday afternoon.
Back-to-back qualifying sessions will start proceedings on Sunday morning, with each session to determine the grid for its respective race – both of which take place on Sunday.
The Sydney SuperSprint will take place at Sydney Motorsport Park on 27-28 June and will be broadcast live and ad free on Fox Sports 506.
