The Shannons Motorsport Australia Championships will visit the iconic Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit twice in 2022, thanks to the support of Destination Phillip Island and the Australian Government.

One of the most famous motor racing facilities in Australia will host two rounds of the best motorsport categories in Australia with visits to the Victorian Island venue on 18-20 March and 25-26 June 2022.

These events have received grant funding from the Australian Government under the Recovery for Regional Tourism program, an initiative of the $1billion COVID-19 Relief and Recovery Fund.

With the support of Destination Phillip Island, the two rounds will feature a wide mix of categories, with the Australian Racing Group, including Supercheap Auto TCR Australia Series and the Turtle Wax National Trans Am Series among those who will feature at the March event.

Full category line ups will be made available soon, along with on sale dates for tickets.

Motorsport Australia will promote the two events, which will play a key part in an extended Shannons Motorsport Australia Championships 2022 calendar.

Attendees from across Australia will be encouraged to make the most of all Phillip Island has to offer, with its rich tourism industry providing motorsport fans with the perfect long weekend getaway or extended vacation as part of their motorsport experience.

Cowes and San Remo both offer a wealth of accommodation choices, along with idyllic beaches and a wide range of shops, restaurants and cafes.

Competitors and spectators alike will also be able to experience the region’s scenic walks and trails, as well as the opportunity to see plenty of wildlife, including the popular Penguin Parade. Enjoy a fishing charter, helicopter flight or adventure jet boat cruise the choices are endless.

Tickets for the two Phillip Island events are expected to go on sale soon.
