Phillip Island confirmed for 2023 SpeedSeries

Victoria’s iconic Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit is the latest venue to be added to the 2023 SpeedSeries schedule.
 
A regular feature in previous years, teams and fans will again enjoy a visit to Phillip Island with this year’s event to take place on 12-14 May.
 
As with all rounds of the SpeedSeries, the event will be broadcast live on Stan Sport and Nine’s free-to-air networks.

The Victorian event will provide a significant boost for the region, with a large number of teams, officials and fans expected to descend to the Phillip Island region, which is one of Victoria’s most popular tourist areas.

Round 1: Race Tasmania, Symmons Plains – 24-26 February
Round 2: Hi-Tec Oils Bathurst 6 Hour – 7-9 April
Round 3: Phillip Island – 12-14 May
Round 4: Winton Raceway – 9-11 June
Round 5: Sydney Motorsport Park – 23-25 June
Round 6: Queensland Raceway – 11-13 August
Round 7: Sandown International Raceway – 8-10 September
Round 8: Supercheap Auto Bathurst International (TCR World Tour) – 10-12 November

Motorsport Australia Director of Motorsport & Commercial Operations Michael Smith:
“We’ve been going to Phillip Island for many years as part of the Shannons Nationals, the Shannons Motorsport Australia Championships and now the SpeedSeries,” Smith said.
 
“The feedback from drivers, teams, officials and spectators is always overwhelmingly positive and we know the racing will be enjoyable and competitive.
 
“This event is the final piece in the 2023 SpeedSeries calendar which promises to deliver some amazing racing, a wide range of categories and visits to the best Australian circuits.”
 
Australian Racing Group Chief Operating Officer Liam Curkpatrick:
“Phillip Island is an iconic venue that has witnessed some of the best moments in Australian motorsport and we are excited to add another chapter to that in May this year,” Curkpatrick said.
 
“This final piece of the puzzle allows us to confirm a number of category’s 2023 schedules and we are eager to get this year’s SpeedSeries underway with AWC Race Tasmania in February.
 
“Together with Motorsport Australia, the Australian Racing Group is looking forward to one of the biggest calendar of the events in recent times. We’ve now got an amazing eight events to look forward to, including the addition of the TCR World Tour later this year.”
