The Marque Sports Car Association of SA (MSCASA) begins its Supersprint Series this month with the first of five rounds to also run as a Come and Try Training day.

Taking place at Mallala Raceway, the Come and Try component of the event is open to everyone regardless of their track experience.

In what will be a busy schedule for participants, professional and experienced driving instructors will run three classroom sessions that cover all aspects of circuit driving and participants will be able to put their learnings to the test with track sessions to follow each class experience.

MSCASA President Adrian Flynn believed it was an important event for drivers wanting to get a taste of circuit racing.

“If you have ever wanted to try Supersprint and race the clock at Mallala or The Bend, but didn’t know how to get involved, this event is a great starting point,” Flynn said.

“You need very little or no track experience and it’s a fun day out, teaching valuable skills that will help improve the driving skills of participants, both on the road or on the track.

“All participants need to supply is the car, which must be basically roadworthy, petrol, a helmet and to be over 14-years-old. You do not need to be a member of a club or a fire extinguisher – that is it.

“We provide a licence for the day, which will see participants start at controlled speed with an experienced Sprinter and could finish off with participants going as fast as they like on their own.

“It’s a great opportunity and is a great foundation for anyone looking to get into the sport.”

Interested participants can enter the event for just $175 and can do so here.

The Marque Sports Car Association of SA will hold its Come and Try Training Day and series Supersprint at Mallala Raceway on 12 March.
