Time is running out for crews to enter this month’s Wentworth Shire Pooncarie Desert Dash, with entries closing at 5pm on Friday 14 April.
The event serves as the second round of the Polaris Motorsport Australia Off Road Championship and will see crews tackle four laps of the now 106-kilometre course.
Making its debut on the AORC calendar last year, the Sunraysia Motorsport Club run event was a massive success as Ryan Taylor and Kye Floyd won their first ever national round.

After what has been a busy few months trying to overcome flooding issues, Sunraysia Motorsport Club President Peter Freckleton has been part of the team hard at work to fix the event.
“The track is looking really good at the moment, and I am quite proud of the team’s effort to get it to a point that we think crews will really enjoy,” Freckleton said.
“It’s good country out there and the track itself has now been extended to 106km, four from what was earlier this year and even more than it was last year.
“Obviously the majority of the course is the same, however there are different parts of the track and some different directions, but overall, the course is looking good.
“We’re also over the moon with the amount of support that the Wentworth Shire has shown – especially after the success of last year, so we’re looking forward to growing our partnership with them.
“It’s exciting seeing some of the entries already locked in – I believe we may even welcome some New Zealanders for the event, which would add a bit of international flavour if they come.
“It would be great to see more people coming through and we’re looking forward to hosting the best in Australia.”
Entries for the event are still open and close on Friday 14 April with interested crews able to enter via the
