Innovative program expands in 2023

Registrations are now open for the Women's Introduction to Motorsport program
Following a successful debut last year, Motorsport Australia’s Introduction Program for Women will return in July with the next event to be held in Sydney.

After selling out the first ever program in Queensland, Motorsport Australia will now expand the initiative across Australia, with the next event to be held on 2 July at Sydney Motorsport Park.

The program covers off a range of topics and experiences, all designed to allow women to experience motorsport for the first time and in the familiarity of their own road car.

Participants will get unique hands-on experiences from motorsport professionals including how to prepare a vehicle, along with a range of on track exercises focusing on car control and skills. Women already involved in grassroots motorsport will also be on hand to help them navigate their way through the first steps of motorsport.

Motorsport Australia CEO Eugene Arocca said the program’s success in Queensland in 2022 highlighted how these initiatives are a key pathway for many.

“The first Women’s Introduction to Motorsport program last year ‘sold out’ and was a popular addition to the motorsport calendar,” Arocca said.

“The ability for women to experience a tailored motorsport initiative has already proven to be beneficial for the attendees as well as providing an exciting opportunity to network with like-minded people throughout the events.

“We are excited to be bringing this event to Sydney in July with further events to follow later this year.”

The event is open to women, non-binary and gender diverse folk to attend. Registrations are now open and are being accepted until 16 June, unless the program reaches capacity prior.

The 2023 Women’s Introduction to Motorsport program in Sydney will be held on 2 July.
