The Porsche Paynter Dixon Carrera Cup Australia Championship will have eight rounds in 2024.
The Porsche Paynter Dixon Carrera Cup Australia Championship will hold one of its biggest ever seasons in 2024 with eight rounds to make up the calendar.

Highlighted by a first-ever appearance in New Zealand, the 2024 calendar sees the popular one-make series take part at iconic events in the region.

Starting off in its traditional slot as a support category at the Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne, the category’s seven remaining rounds will be alongside the Repco Supercars Championship.

Following the season opener in March, the championship will venture across the Tasman Sea to New Zealand for the ITM Taupō Super400 in April where it will run internationally for just the second time in its history – seven years after racing in Malaysia in 2017.

The Carrera Cup will next head to the top end of Australia in June for the betr Darwin Triple Crown before competitors experience another series-first in July when they race under the night sky as part of the Beaurepaires Sydney SuperNight.

231115_carreracup2Four of the country’s premiere events will host the championship’s second half of the season, with visits to the Penrite Oil Sandown 500, Repco Bathurst 1000 and Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500 setting up a mouth-watering finale at the famous VAILO Adelaide 500.

Porsche Cars Australia’s Motorsport Manager Barry Hay was excited for what would be a historic year for the series.

“The 2024 Porsche Paynter Dixon Carrera Cup Australia Championship calendar has been challenging to piece together, but we are very proud of the outcome,” Hay said.

“It is well balanced, offers incredible events for our competitors and perhaps the most diverse calendar in the history of one-make Porsche racing in Australia.

“From International events, night racing, outstanding and classic permanent circuits, street racing and arguably four of the largest motorsport events in Australia, it offers incredible value for everyone involved.

“Next year is looking like another bumper year, with new names stepping up and familiar ones returning to the championship, plus several new cars that are due to arrive in Australia soon.

“We are looking forward to working with our partners at the Supercars Championship, Supercars Media and the key promoters like the Australian Grand Prix Corporation, NT Major Events and the South Australian Motorsport Board to deliver another incredible season in 2024.”

Just one round remains on the 2023 calendar with the VAILO Adelaide 500 to decide both the Equity One Professional and SP Tools Pro-Am classes on 23-27 November.
