Brodie Kostecki has won the 2024 Repco Supercars Championship, winning his first ever Australian Touring Car Championship at Saturday’s VAILO Adelaide 500.

Kostecki finished the race in sixth, however with title protagonist Shane van Gisbergen forced to retire on the opening lap, the path to Championship glory was wide open for Kostecki who simply had to finish the race to claim his first Supercars title.

Saturday’s 250km race was ultimately won by Tickford’s Cameron Waters, with Ford locking out the podium. Grove Racing’s David Reynolds finished second, while Waters’ Tickford teammate Thomas Randle claimed third.

“I'm lost for words, to be honest,” Waters said.

“It was awesome to win on the Gold Coast, but to win here in Adelaide, it's probably one of my favourite races of the year, the fans are amazing.

“My team have been absolutely phenomenal... I'm pretty pumped.”
