Patrick Heuzenroeder will race in GB3 this year.
Aussie Patrick Heuzenroeder will take another step forward in his international career after locking in a place in the 2024 GB3 Championship.
One of the first competitors announced for the championship this year, the teenager will contest GB3 with the highly successful JHR Developments, who won last year’s Team Championship title.
The GB3 Championship is Great Britain’s highest level of single-seater racing and is made up of 24 races over eight rounds, including iconic British circuits Silverstone Circuit and Brands Hatch, as well as the famous Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, Hungaroring and Circuit Zandvoort.
The 2022 Ferrari Driver Academy Asia Pacific and Oceania Selection Program finalist will enter the season with a good year of British racing under his belt after picking up a podium and a handful of top 10 finishes in last year’s British F4 Championship.
Heuzenroeder then enjoyed a two-round stint in the GB3 Championship itself, scoring a podium place in his final race.
“I’m very pleased to be joining JHR Developments for the 2024 GB3 Championship,” Heuzenroeder said.
“We worked extremely hard in winter testing, and I really enjoyed being in and around the team. They have a wealth of experience and are a great bunch who seem to understand my Aussie sense of humour. We worked well together from the first day.
“After a very competitive testing program I was grateful to be rewarded with a seat in the team which won the 2023 GB3 Teams’ Championship title and I feel really confident JHR is a great fit for me. I can’t wait to get the season underway in late March.
“Thanks also to my sponsors and all my supporters for helping me compete again in 2024, particularly the great team at Praden Insurance Broking.”
Heuzenroeder will take part in an extensive pre-season testing program before the official season gets underway at Oulton Park on 30 March – 1 April.
