The schedule for March’s AWC Race Tasmania at Symmons Plains has been confirmed with more than 16 hours of track time to make up the second Shannons SpeedSeries round of 2024.

Five categories will be in action throughout the three-day event, with the Supercheap Auto TCR Australia Series and Trico Trans Am Series both returning after thrilling season openers at Race Sandown.

Joining the Shannons SpeedSeries regulars will be another national category, the Precision National Sports Sedans, and local Tasmanian categories, Sparco Tassie Tintops and ACL Race Series Hyundai Excel.

Both TCR and Sports Sedans will stick to their traditional racing formats with multiple practice sessions on the Friday, qualifying and race one on Saturday and the remaining two races on Sunday.

After having a similar three-race schedule at Sandown, Trans Am fans will enjoy one extra race in Tasmania, with the popular category to have four races across the whole weekend – two of which will be run on Saturday after qualifying and a further two on Sunday.

The local Tassie Tin tops will run with an almost identical schedule to Trans Am with four races for the round, while the Excels will have an event-high five in total – three of which will be run on Saturday.

In addition to the five categories, the entertaining Drift League Tasmania will take centre stage six times during the event for special demonstrations laps, with three sessions running on both Saturday and Sunday.

Tickets for the event are still available for purchase and can be done via motorsporttickets.com.au.

For those unable to make the event, the Seven Network will once again broadcast another four hours of free-to-air as well as full day coverage on Saturday and Sunday’s live and free via its online streaming service, 7plus.
