The Western District Car Club (WDCC) will be the latest organisation to run the Women's Introduction to Motorsport program, with the club holding an event later this month.
Taking place at Avalon Motorsport Complex on Mother’s Day, the event offers both morning and afternoon sessions for interested participants, with the goal of giving women a stepping stone into the sport.
Covering a range of topics, the event has been created for women to experience motorsport for the first time and in the familiarity of their own road car.
For just $30, the session will include hands-on experience in a car from motorsport professionals via carefully designed track exercises, teaching them a handful of important skills, including car control.
The club has secured three major partners to help support the event with Burson Auto Parts, European Affair and The Learning Professionals all on board.

Interested participants can register for the program by emailing

The Women’s Introduction to Motorsport Program has been developed by Motorsport Australia as a pathway to increase participation for women in grassroots motorsport and to provide clubs with tools to create their own impactful introductory events for women.
The WDCC is the second club to run a Women's Introduction to Motorsport program this year, with the BMW Drivers Club of Melbourne having organised one in March, while an event held at METEC in Melbourne last year was named as a category finalist in the 2023 Victorian Sport Awards.
Motorsport Australia itself will also be running multiple programs this year, with the first to take place at Shell V-Power Motorsport Park in June.
