Registrations for the next Women’s Introduction to Motorsport program are now being accepted, with the RACQ Mobility Centre in Mount Cotton hosting the next event.

Scheduled to run on Sunday 25 August, the initiative will return to Queensland for the first time since October 2022 when a successful sold-out pilot event was held at Norwell Motorplex.

The program covers a range of topics and experiences, all designed for participants to experience motorsport for the first time and in the familiarity of their own road car.

As part of each event, participants will gain valuable experience behind the wheel via a variety of track exercises, where they will learn about car control and gain other skills.

In addition to the hands-on experience from motorsport professionals, participants will also learn how to prepare a vehicle and take part in a networking lunch with individuals involved with the sport.

Joining the program as a buddy will be highly esteemed Queensland rally driver, Michelle Van Der Wilk, who was excited to be part of the event.

“I am really looking forward to attending RAQC Mobility Centre later this year and hopefully inspiring the next wave of female competitors,” Van Der Wilk said.

“I am a big believer in increasing women participation in motorsport and the Motorsport Australia Women’s Introduction to Motorsport program has provided a supportive and safe environment for women to get their first taste of the sport.

“The program offers a great mix of theory and practical exercises, and it’s the perfect way for women to be introduced to the sport. I can’t wait to help inspire the start of some long journeys into motorsport.”
