The Repco Supercars Championship will return this weekend with the Panasonic Air Conditioning Sydney SuperNight at Sydney Motorsport Park.

The seventh round of the 2024 season will light up the city over three days in western Sydney, the fan-favourite 51-lap fixture the only night race on the 2024 calendar.

Supercars head to Sydney Motorsport Park with a Red Bull Ampol Racing lock out at the top of the standings - Will Brown and Broc Feeney sitting in first and second position respectively with a 78-point differential.

Brown and Feeney have been on a charge this season, the Supercars leader picking up three race wins and 12 podiums while his teammate has secured five races wins and eight podiums.

Walkinshaw Andretti United’s Chaz Mostert rounds out the top three with four events remaining in 2024, extending a 215-point buffer to three-time Bathurst podium-finisher, Cam Waters.

However, with only 61 points separating Waters and Matthew Payne in fifth position, the battle for fourth could prove a highlight of the weekend’s proceedings.

Despite Waters’ four podiums and two wins in 2024, it’s Penrite Racing up-and-comer Matthew Payne who will head into the weekend with the confidence having taken out the 250km NTI Townsville 500 victory earlier this month.

Making his Supercars debut this weekend, Dunlop Super2 Series stalwart Lochie Dalton will get his chance to see how he measures up against the best – the youngster has been confirmed as a wildcard entry for Tickford Autosport.

Dalton joined the team after showcasing his talents in the Dunlop Super2 Series, paving the way for his Supercars debut as the youngest Tasmanian to compete in the Championship.

Sydney fans can expect an extra dose of Supercars action this year, with the event to feature a Boost Mobile Qualifying session, Top Ten Shootout and a 200km race on both Saturday and Sunday.

The Panasonic Air Conditioning Sydney SuperNight will run from Friday to Sunday, featuring a variety of support categories throughout the weekend including the Porsche Paynter Dixon Carrera Cup Australia, Tyrepower V8 SuperUte Series, Gulf Western Oil Touring Car Masters and Toyota Gazoo Racing Australia GR CUP.

All Supercars session over the weekend will be broadcast live and ad free via Foxtel and Kayo for Australian viewers, while fans outside the country can watch via Superview.

The Repco Supercars Championship takes place at Sydney Motorsport Park from 19-21 July. SydneySuperNight2-19724
