Motorsport Australia is pleased to confirm that to date, in 2025, over 1000 officials have completed structured online training modules to further their skills and knowledge in helping to deliver safe, fair and fun participation across all levels of the sport.
Training is a strategic pillar in the growth and development of Motorsport Australia’s 11,000+ volunteer officials’ community and a priority identified by the Officials Working Group.
Structured development pathways use core training modules to help officials move through the ranks of General, Bronze, Silver and Gold, as well as specialist modules, such as electric vehicle safety, to ensure officials’ expertise aligns with the evolving motorsport landscape in Australia.

In addition to online training, face-to-face education has seen a further 60 officials complete Stewards Refresher, Critical Incident, Silver Module (leadership), Off Road Course Checker, and First Responder Training.
Lisa Crampton, Motorsport Australia Sporting & Technical Director said a strategic approach to training and education supports the structures in place that improve the officials’ pathways, and to embed the core values that build a culture of respect and accountability in a high-performance environment.
Crampton added that working with the FIA, and as part of regular training needs assessments, Motorsport Australia will deliver new training modules in the coming months.
