Women eager to get a behind the scenes look at what goes into rally and off road racing, can take part in a special garage session next month where they can hear from industry leaders and gain special insights.
The FIA Girls on Track – Pathways program is partnering with MaD Garage to hold a special event on Friday 22 August at its Victorian garage.
Designed specifically for young women 15-22 years old, the unique session will be limited to 21 participants to get involved.
Three separate workshops will be on offer, all of which are related to rally and off road.
Led by Performance Engineer and Strength & Conditioning Coach Leigh Stamation, participants will take part in a driver performance workshop where they will learn more about unlocking the keys of elite performance with a simulator session, cognitive training and expert advice from Leigh’s experience working with drivers across all motorsport disciplines.
MaD Garage co-owner and motoring journalist Dan Gardner will lead the mechanical workshop, where participants will learn what makes a rally car different to a track car and everything mechanics need to do within 20 minute rally service. Participants will have the opportunity to get hands on and have a go at performing an oil change service against the clock in the Ryco Oil Filter Swap Challenge.
Fellow MaD Garage co-owner, Extreme E & Australian Rally Champion Molly Taylor, Motorsport Broadcaster & Automotive Journalist Kate Peck and MaD Garage Video Producer Sean Lander will round out the event with a media workshop.
This workshop will explore how to build content strategies on and off the track and integrate these into valuable brand partnerships.
Participants will develop a mock content piece, using the Garage’s beloved Brumby and other workshop equipment.
Participants will also have the opportunity to hear from MaD Garage partner, Hella Australia and gain insights into how to cultivate meaningful brand partnerships.
Registrations to this event will close 8 August or until allocated spots are filled prior — this event will book out quickly.
