Taking place across 12-14 June at Gyndier Drive, Tewantin, the Noosa Hillclimb proudly celebrates its 29th year in what is one of Queensland’s most respected grassroots motorsport events.
Established in 1998, the event has evolved over nearly three decades from a small local meet‑up into a nationally recognised celebration of motorsport heritage, driving skill, engineering excellence and community spirit.
Held on the scenic Gyndier Drive course at Tewantin in the Noosa Shire, the event brings to life the atmosphere of a classic motorsport festival combined with the excitement and professionalism of a sanctioned hill climb competition.
‘The Hill’ has earned a reputation as one of Australia’s most enjoyable and unique motorsport experiences, attracting competitors and spectators from across the country.
The Gyndier Drive course itself represents a challenging 1.5 kilometres of closed public road featuring 14 tight and undulating corners, elevation changes and demanding technical sections that test both driver skill and vehicle performance. The unique character of the circuit, set within its natural bushland surroundings, has become one of the defining features of the Noosa Hillclimb and a major attraction for competitors and spectators alike.
Over the years, the Noosa Hillclimb has welcomed an extraordinary list of competitors and personalities from Australian motorsport. Legendary drivers and champions, including Dick Johnson, Kevin Bartlett, Glenn Seton, Broc Feeney, Ben Walsh, Fabian Gulhart, and Harri Jones, have all competed at or supported the event, underscoring its prestige and deep roots in Australian motorsport.
The event also proudly celebrates the contribution of women in motorsport and continues to encourage greater female participation both on and off the track. Female competitors, officials and volunteers have become an important part of the Hill’s identity and success, helping to foster an inclusive and welcoming environment for all competitors and spectators.
The Noosa Hillclimb stands as far more than a motorsport event; it is a proudly community‑driven, not‑for‑profit tradition, powered entirely by the dedication of volunteers from the Noosa Beach Classic Car Club.
Every year, hundreds of volunteer hours flow into the Hill from club members, local community groups, emergency services personnel, Australian Defence Force veterans, and dedicated supporters who share a passion for motorsport and community spirit.
