The Queensland motorsport community will be out in force to see the best of what historic machinery has to offer at the 2026 Historic Racing Car Club’s Classic Queensland event.
The motorsport extravaganza, slated for 3-5 July will feature as the state’s premier classic and historic 2+4 motorsport festival at Queensland Raceway.
Adding to occasion, there will be a strong contingent of Australian Formula 5000 machines, including from interstate, creating a formidable grid class for next month – with no mufflers.

Recognised as one of Australia’s premier historic racing festivals, Classic Queensland hosts an incredible collection of racing machinery honouring multiple generations of motorsport history.
“This is gearing up to be one of the largest editions of this event in its history,” HRCC President Chris Fung said.
“It’s important to point out that the event is not only open to HRCC members or Historic log book car runners, it is open to all Motorsport Australia members.
“As long as someone has a Speed Licence, they are able to enter the Super Sprint or the Shannons Timed Trial events.
“At the event’s core, it is designed to promote motor racing and encourage new members to consider joining the Historic Racing scene.”

During an action-packed three days, competitors and spectators will enjoy a diverse program of circuit racing, super sprints and timed trials, with the event welcoming Historic 5th Category race cars alongside invited classic and modern vehicles.
Motorcycles will also form part of the weekend’s attractions, creating a unique festival atmosphere for enthusiasts of all motorsport backgrounds.
Classic Queensland also offers a chance for attendees to enjoy the rich history of Australian racing, while getting to meet fellow enthusiasts and enjoying extensive car displays. The interactive nature of Classic Queensland is a major factor as to why HRCC events continue to be a highlight on the motorsport calendar.

With continued support from long-time partner Shannons and strong participation expected from interstate competitors and clubs, the 2026 edition is on-track to be a marquee event.
