Formula Vee Western Australia has reported strong female participation during the first half of the 2026 season, with seven female drivers among a current membership base of 32.

The more than half-dozen female members current forms approximately 22% of the category’s active membership.

Formula Vee Western Australia President Kathy Lisson stated her excitement at the uptick in women’s participation compared to previous years.

“The category has maintained consistent involvement from female competitors across both new and experienced drivers in recent seasons, reflecting sustained engagement within the field,” Lisson said.

“Formula Vee is an established entry-level circuit racing category in Western Australia, providing close, competitive racing and serving as an accessible pathway into motorsport participation.”

The association put the increase of participation down to several factors.

These include the accessibility of Formula Vee as an entry point into circuit racing, the supportive club environment on offer in Western Australia, and the presence of women already competing within the category.

“Formula Vee in its format provides a close racing format and relatively contained cost structure,” Lisson added.

“This may also assist in supporting continued participation.”

Formula Vee WA states it will continue to encourage inclusive participation and remains focused on providing accessible competition pathways for all drivers in the category.
