Temperatures across the country may be cooling down, but motorsport nationwide continues to heat up with more than 20 events scheduled for this weekend.
At the higher end of the temperature scale, the Repco Supercars Championship returns to North Queensland this weekend with the NTI Townsville 500 to begin racing from Friday afternoon through to Sunday.
Adding to the atmosphere, the Cyclones Rod & Customs Club will host a V8 Supercars Classic Display at the Reid Park Motorsport Precinct throughout the weekend for spectators to enjoy between motorsport sessions.
Additional events in Queensland include South East Queensland Off Road Association’s ‘The Zooms Cup’ taking place at Sweedmans Property and Round 5 of the Millmerran Auto Club’s Dirt Sprint Series at Reserve Raceway.
Seven club events will be scattered across New South Wales this weekend. Among them includes events held by the Tamworth Sporting Car Club, Barrier Sporting Car Club and the Mazda MX-5 Club of New South Wales. The Kempsey-Macleay Auto Restorers Club will host a community sausage sizzle fundraiser at the Bunnings Warehouse in South Kempsey as a more social option for motorsport enthusiasts.
A pair of events are lined up for Western Australia on the back of one of the state’s biggest motorsport weekends of the year last weekend, with Beverley Off Road Motorsports Association to host an Autocross & Driver Development Day at its club motorplex ad the Light Car Club of WA staging the fourth round of its 2026 Rally Sprint Challenge.
EP Autosports Club in South Australia will facilitate a Come & Try session as part of its upcoming khanacross event in Port Neill. At Symmons Plains Raceway, the Light Car Club of Tasmania will host the third round of the 2026 Tasmanian Circuit Racing Championship.
Victoria leads this weekend in total number of events it will host with nine. Swan hill Sporting Car Club, Austin 7 Club, Bendigo Car Club, Gippsland Car Club and Maffra and District Car Club are just some of the clubs that will be busy on Saturday and Sunday conducting several motorsport disciplines at the same time.
