Following a record breaking Australian Grand Prix crowd of close to half a million people, the Australian motorsport community is energised for more motorsport.
The grassroots community forms the foundation of the events schedule this weekend, breaking the 2026 weekend record for total events with 27 taking place in seven states and territories.
New South Wales will put on nine events during the next two days, beginning this afternoon with Round 2 of the Porsche Club of NSW Supersprint Championship at Sydney Motorsport Park.
Other marquee events to be held include the 2026 Rally of Bathurst on Saturday, which will run through Bathurst, Cabonne and Lithgow, while the CAE Kempsey 300 will invite off road competitors to compete in Wittitrin on Saturday and Sunday.
Round 1 of the 2026 Motorsport Australia NSW Motor Race Championship is also available to the public, running out of Sydney Motorsport Park the entire weekend.
Below the Bass Strait, the Motor Sports Club of Tasmania will facilitate Round 2 of the Tasmanian Motorkhana Championship at Symmons Plains Raceway and Club Motori Italia heads to Baskerville for a hill climb and supersprint event.
The Toyota Gazoo Racing Australia Scholarship Series gets going for 2026 with Round 1 being held at Winton Raceway. Kyneton Car Club commences its autocross series for 2026 on Sunday and Holden Sporting Car Club of Victoria will run Round 2 of its motorkhana series at the TCCA Grounds the same day.
A few come and try events make up the large part of South Australian events this weekend, with several opportunities for new motorsport participants to get some experience under their belts. Host clubs include Southern Districts Car Club at Mid Murray Motorplex (women only on Saturday) and EP Autosports Club in Arno Bay.
Warwick District Sporting Car Club begins its Queensland Supersprint Series at Morgan Park Raceway this week and a Come and Try event will be based out of Central Coast Car Club (Gladstone) on Sunday at the Beneraby Motor Sport Complex.
In the Northern Territory, the Alice Springs Off Road Race Club hosts the ARID Mad March Memorial Race on Saturday and Sunday, with Round 6 of the Top End Mud Racing Association’s season locked in at Downes Park come Saturday.
Concluding the itinerary out west, Round 1 of the South West Touring Car Club’s motorkhana series heads to Bunbury Speedway on Sunday, with Round 5 of the WA Car Club’s summer autocross series on at Perth Motorplex next Wednesday.
