Motorsport Australia is inviting members to submit an Expression of Interest for State Panel appointments, with an updated process designed to simplify how members can put themselves forward and reduce unnecessary administration.
State Panels play an important role in the governance of motorsport across Australia, providing specialist knowledge and advice within their respective disciplines.
Panel members contribute their experience and expertise to support the development of their discipline, assist with relevant competition and officiating matters, and provide advice to Motorsport Australia and State Councils.
Under the updated appointment process, prospective members will instead complete a State Panel Expression of Interest & Acceptance Form, indicating interest in serving on a Panel.
Importantly, the changes are not intended to alter the existing governance framework for appointing State Panel members.
Expressions of Interest will continue to be considered through the relevant State Panel process, with recommended appointments progressing through the relevant State Council process for approval.
The updated process provides greater flexibility, with Expressions of Interest able to be submitted throughout the year when opportunities arise.
An annual review period will continue, which will run from 8 September to 1 November, to support the formal appointment process for the upcoming term. Members interested in being considered as part of the 2027 State Panel appointment process are encouraged to submit their Expression of Interest by Sunday 1 November 2026.
This will assist Motorsport Australia, State Panels and State Councils in facilitating the formalisation of roles by the end of 2026.
Existing State Panel members who’s term expire at the end of 2026 and are seeking to continue for an additional term will be required to complete a shortened version of the form to confirm their details, role and intention to continue.
